Here we are on a quiet Friday night. I am sitting on the couch wrapped in a blanket, computer on my lap, stereo softly playing....cat snuggled up against me. A cup of tea, and life is great, the only thing missing would be a roaring fire in the fireplace.
We had a wild storm here today. It snowed heavily giving us about 3 inches, then it turned to rain....which caused what was on the ground to pool into a huge slushy mess....then it snowed more and froze....yes it's a wonderful mess out there

. I am glad I am here safely writing in my blog.
I was suppose to get together with a man (notice I am not saying gentleman?) who I have known a bit over 2 months. He called when I was just leaving work and really got irate when I said due to the road conditions I would not be making it tonight. (It took me over an hour to make my 22 minute drive home.) Have you ever wanted to tell a guy to loose your number?
What ever happened to chivalry? The nice guy who calls you to make sure you make it home safely after a date? (I never allow any one I don't know to know where I live until I feel comfortable with them.) Why do guys now think that you’re going to sleep with them on a first date? (One date actually showed up with condoms in his glove compartment and announced that they were there during dinner.)Are there any guys left who are really interested in getting to know you for who you are and not because of your cup size? Do great mates still exist? Are there any left? And where does a single gal find em?
And is it our fault that these men behave this way ladies? Are guys as much on the defensive as we are? Have they had it with our behaviors? Oh for the values of yesterday....getting to know someone, what makes them tick, their likes and dislikes....when we just hop into a relationship....its like diving into a swimming pool - you really need to check the depth before diving in to prevent smashing your head on the bottom of the pool.
Of course if we keep our eyes closed when we dive.... (See last post on my marriage)... that doesn't help either.
Blessings to you all....I hope Santa brings you at least one of your requests Cake! You deserve one!
